Founded in 1996
The Duncanville ISD Education Foundation generates and distributes resources to the Duncanville Independent School District for programs and projects that enhance the quality of education and provide students with the opportunities to become contributing citizens in our democratic society and in our increasingly complex world.
The sole purpose of the Education Foundation is to fund projects that incorporate creative and innovative techniques developed by teachers. Each year, teachers may submit to the Foundation grant applications for their creative learning projects. In May, those projects that Foundation's Board believes will have the greatest impact on classroom learning are chosen for funding and implementation in the following school year.
The school district and the community work as partners to seek alternative sources of revenue to fund innovative learning projects for students that result in increased student achievement. Funds for programs and projects are supplied outside of the regular school district budget through a grant application process. Since 1996, the Education Foundation has awarded over $950,000 to Duncanville ISD teachers to date.
note: Effective in 2016, the Education Foundation fiscal year is the calendar year .
